Algoritmos e buracos negros

A estudante de doutoramento no MIT liderou a criação de um novo algoritmo para produzir a primeira imagem de um buraco negro. Katie Bouman tem 29 anos e, até há bem pouco tempo, quase nada sabia sobre um dos enigmas “mais entusiasmantes” do universo. “Nem um só algoritmo, nem uma só pessoa fez esta imagem”, salienta a cientista. Princess Sisi of Austria

Very popular with the Austrian people. Sisi was born on Christmas Eve in 1837 as the second daughter of Duke Maximilian and Duchess Ludovika in Bavaria, Germany. In 1853 she met her cousin Emperor Franz Joseph, who was going to marry her sister Helene. Franz Joseph of Austria fell in love with Sisi immediately and decided to marry her instead of her sister. She became Empress of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The 13/05/1717 was a day Austrian history will never forget, it was the day the one and only female Empress in the Habsburg dynasty ever was born. Even at the young age of 23, she became Empress of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. She occupied this position for 40 years. Aposta na Universidade Aberta

Contrato de desenvolvimento com aquela universidade vai durar cinco anos e está previsto no Regime Legal de Ensino à Distância. Ensino à distância estava por regulamentar há 30 anos. A Universidade Aberta (UA) vai tornar-se uma porta de entrada privilegiada para que a população adulta faça uma formação superior. O Regime Legal do Ensino à Distância (RLED), que pela primeira vez em 30 anos regula esta modalidade de educação em Portugal e deverá ser aprovado na próxima semana, prevê que seja assinado um contrato de desenvolvimento entre a tutela e aquela universidade. The second Queen of the Netherlands

Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Oranje-Nassau, Duchess of Mecklenburg and Princess of Lippe-Biesterfeld. Juliana Louise Emma Marie Wilhelmina was the queen of the Netherlands between the 4th of September 1948 and 30th of April 1980 and was married to Prince Bernhard van Lippe-Biesterfeld. Together they had four daughters called Beatrix, Irene, Margriet, and Christina. In 2004 she died at the age of 94. An interesting story about Queen Juliana is that at the age of 19 she had to find her husband to secure the throne. Tabaco aquecido contém mais riscos

Os produtos de tabaco aquecido “contêm nicotina, causando dependência nos seus utilizadores, para além de estarem presentes outros produtos adicionados que não existem no tabaco e que são frequentemente aromatizados”, lê-se no documento divulgado nesta terça-feira. Doze sociedades científicas e organizações de saúde portuguesas manifestaram-se nesta terça-feira preocupadas com as alegações da indústria sobre o risco reduzido dos dispositivos de tabaco aquecido e alertaram que os riscos para a saúde são graves. Wladyslaw III of Poland

According to a Portuguese legend, the Polish king didn’t die in Varna but he settled in Madeira. Wladyslaw Warnenczyk was King of Poland, Hungary, and Croatia until his death at the age of 20, at the Battle of Varna in 1444. He was the first-born son of Wladyslaw Jagiello who was the founder of the Jagiellonian dynasty. The battle of Varna was a decisive Ottoman victory over the crusader alliance, led by Wladyslaw Warnenczyk and John Hunyadi-voivode of Transylvania, a leading Hungarian military and political figure. William of Orange – the ancestor of the Dutch monarchy William of Orange was the main leader of the Dutch Revolt against the Spanish Habsburgs that set off the Eighty Years’ War (1568–1648) and resulted in the formal independence of the United Provinces in 1581. A small man who was a great king. In XIV century Poland had a king of Piast dynasty, who was famous because of his height. Wladyslaw became the King at the age of 52 years old and his way to achieve this position wasn’t easy. Independence of Finland

Independence Day was first celebrated in 1917. During the interregnum from the fall of Nicholas II to the end of the Finnish Civil War in 1918, sovereignty in Finland was exercised by the Finnish Parliament. And until the October Revolution and the declaration of independence by the Russian interim government which happened after the civil war, regents were appointed by the parliament and a new king was to be elected. Blanca I of Navarre

The third daughter of King Carlos III and Leonor de Trastámara Blanca I of Navarre (Pamplona, 1385- Segovia, 1441), belonging to the dynasty of Évreux, was queen consort of Sicily between 1401-1409, and queen of Navarre from 1425 until her death. She was the third daughter of King Carlos III of Navarre, nicknamed “the Noble” and his wife Leonor de Trastámara. In 1402 her marriage was arranged with Martin the Younger, King of Sicily and heir of the Crown of Aragon.
